House Moving FAQ

  • We serve all of greater Los Angeles including the San Fernando Valley, the Westside, East LA, South Bay, and surrounding cities as well as Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Ventura County. We also run long-distance routes to San Francisco and the greater Bay Area for clients relocating from SoCal.

  • For local SoCal moves, we recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance, especially for weekend dates. For long-distance moves to the Bay Area, 3–4 weeks gives us the best window to plan the route and crew. That said, reach out even if your timeline is tighter we do our best to accommodate.

  • Yes. We use the same crew from your pickup location to your delivery destination no hand-offs, no third-party drivers, no strangers showing up to unload what someone else packed. The people who load your home are the people who unload it.

  • Yes. Beds, dining tables, desks, entertainment centers, shelving units, and other large furniture will be disassembled for safe transport and fully reassembled at your new home. This is included in our full-service moves.


  • +

    Local moves within the LA metro typically take 4–8 hours depending on home size, volume of belongings, and traffic. A one-bedroom apartment might take 3–4 hours; a large family home can take a full day. We'll give you an honest time estimate when you request your quote.

  • Most LA-to-SF moves are completed in one day. Loading takes 3–6 hours depending on home size, the drive is roughly 6–7 hours, and unloading takes another 3–5 hours. Larger homes (4BR+) may require an overnight with delivery the next morning.

  • Yes. Sweet Moving Co. is fully licensed and insured. We also use professional protective materials furniture blankets, stretch wrap, custom padding to make sure everything arrives exactly as it left.

  • Yes. We have the equipment and trained crew members to handle ultra-heavy specialty items like pianos, pool tables, gun safes, and large statues. Just flag these items when you request a quote so we can plan appropriately.

  • Plants and perishable food should travel with you in your vehicle — they won't survive a day in a moving truck, especially in SoCal heat. Hazardous materials such as paint, propane, chemicals, and ammunition cannot legally be transported in a moving truck and will need to be disposed of or transported separately.
